name it is not safe to assume identity since the name of the century to which
the Candidus of 146
belonged is lost.
renuntiauit has a very tall e, and the initial o of optio is also large
ce]nturiae: the traces at the beginning of the line
are difficult but compatible with the reading. There is no other certain
example in which the word is written out in full (but see 316.6 note and 242.i.3 note).
