beginning of a letter addressed to Cerialis, perhaps from September (see note
to line 1). The hand is probably not the same as that of 252.

The traces before Ceriali are very faint but
suit the proposed reading well. If it is correct, the letter is probably from
Caecilius September (cf. 252, introduction), although September
is, of course, not the only name with this termination (cf. 258.back 8
note).
